Military Service

Dr Plunka served in the US Army Dental Corps, as an Army Dentist from August, 1982 to February, 1987. Captain Plunka rose to second-in-command at the Fort Hamilton Dental Clinic in Brooklyn, NY., where he perfected his skills in all aspects on Dentistry. He earned the distinguished Army Commendation medal in 1987. After active duty service, Dr Plunka remained as a Dentist in the US Army Dental Corps Reserves, attached to Fort Meade, MD until 1991, where he was promoted to the rank of Major.

Civilian Experience

Dr Plunka associated with several Dental Practices from 1987 to 1994. He was a General Dentist on the staff of the Wyman Park Dental Clinic, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins Hospital from 1987 to 1991. In 1992 he opened his Dental Practice in Northwest Baltimore City, and subsequently moved the Practice to Pikesville, MD, where he practiced General Dentistry from 2002 to 2021. He has received several awards, including the Baltimore Certificate For The Treatment of Handicap Children. He is a member of the Maimonides Dental Study Club, and a past member of the Alpha Omega Dental Society and the American Dental Association.

Dr Plunka is married with two children. He enjoys reading, playing chess and spending time with his two young grandchildren.

Dr. Shebli is a Board Certified Periodontist and Implant Specialist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Shebli has extensive experience in all facets of periodontal and dental implant surgery, including, but not limited to, sinus grafting, soft tissue plastic surgery, hard and soft tissue grafting, crown lengthening and correction of gummy smile, peri-implantitis therapy, periodontal laser therapy, and minimally invasive surgical treatment modalities. He is dedicated to keeping up to date with the latest techniques and technology in order to provide the best treatment options and service to his patients.

When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Mehrazarin enjoys cooking, swimming, traveling, and spending quality time with his wife and son.


Dr SpatesIrene Spates, DMD

Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Irene Spates has a great reputation in Baltimore county as a compassionate pediatric dentist that demonstrates integrity, trustworthiness and transparency. She is dedicated to providing quality dental care to children in a calm and playful environment. Her ultimate goal is to promote healthy oral habits and preventative care in families that will last a lifetime. She received her dental degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she was honored as a fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy. She was privileged to treat patients of all ages including those with special healthcare needs and complex medical conditions. She then received here specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry at the University of Maryland. She is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is an active member in Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In her free time, she enjoy spending time with family and friends. On the weekends, you can find her on a hiking trail, at an Oriole’s game or Raven’s game.

Dr.-ThomasChanice Thomas, DMD

Orthodontist

Dr. Chanice Thomas is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. It was there she attended Oakwood University, graduating valedictorian of her class with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. After completing her degree, she received a Merit Scholarship to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine then moved to Boston to begin her dental journey.

Upon earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, Dr. Thomas continued to orthodontic residency at Tufts, where she trained for an additional two years. Dr. Thomas completed her specialty training and received a Certificate in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Thomas aims to improve the quality of life, self-esteem, and overall well-being of her patients by creating beautiful smiles.
